5.4 -magnitude quake hits border area of Afghanistan,Tajikistan
An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted the border area of Afghanistan and Tajikistan at 7:59 p.m. Beijing Time Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 200 km, was monitored at about 36.5 degrees north latitude and 71.1 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
