5.7-magnitude quake hits off east coast of North Island of New Zealand -- USGS
An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand at 04:34:07 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 20.10 km, was initially determined to be at 37.5856 degrees south latitude and 179.2921 degrees east longitude.
