6.5-magnitude quake hits islands off Mexican coast -- USGS
An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted the Revilla Gigedo Islands region off Mexico's Pacific coast on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter was located about some 333 km southeast of Mexico's Baja California beach resort of Cabo San Lucas, with a depth of 5 km, according to the USGS.
A previous report from the USGS put the depth at 10 km.
No reports of damage or casualties have been received so far.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there was no widespread destructive tsunami threat.
